horse taking fright and jumping down a bank into a rocky creek, the vehicle falling on him, Abbott B. Garth, in the 23d year of his age; son of Mrs. Mary Garth, late of the District of Kensington. He was an excellent son and brother, sincerely beloved by his family and by his numerous friends, who are left to mourn over his early and untimely fate.

of the Consolidated Police will parade, under command of their respective Lieutenants, This (Friday) Afternoon, at 1 o’clock, to pay the last tribute of respect to their deceased brother, George P. Ashmore, late Policeman of the Kensington Division, with stars craped. Policemen Albert G. stevens and Charles M. Clayton, of the N.W. City Division: John Smith and Hiram Bennett, of the Spring Garden Division; Francis Hunter, of the Southwark Division; William Green, of the Kensington Division; Jacob Glassmire, of the Northern Liberties Division; and John Roberts, of the S.W. City Division, will act as Pall Bearers. Policemen Peter H. Willetts and Charles M. Tapper, of the Spring Garden Division, will serve as Special Aids on the occasion, and will be respected and obeyed accordingly. By command of John S. Keyser, Marshal. A. W.
