My hourly fee is $45.00. For most projects I request a minimum retainer of $180.00 to be applied toward the number of hours you authorize. This initial retainer will cover the first 4 hours of research. Each additional hour is billed at $45.00 per hour. For large projects I require larger upfront fees. If you order larger projects they can be discounted as follows:

4 hours research (1/2 day) = $180.00         (no discount)

8 hours research (full day)  = $325.00         ($35.00 discount)

40 hours research (full week) = $1500.00    ($300.00 discount)

You can see a normal 4 hour project will cost $180.00, but by ordering a full day project you save $35.00 and a full week project you can save $300.00.

If you have only one or two records you want checked, then the per hour fee is probably better. I generally do not take on projects that require the pulling of one or two records, assuming the record dates are known, but if it happens that I am going to the particular repository necessary for your request, I will pull the record, otherwise I can hold the request and take care of it the next time I visit that particular repository. The minimum cost is one full hour ($45.00) paid in advance.  For longer projects, purchasing half day, full day, or full week would probably suit you and save you money.

The work will commence upon the receiving of retainer fee. My fees include research, report, and analysis, with ideas for future research.

I accept personal checks and money orders drawn on American banks and payable in American dollars. I also accept payment through Paypal, where you can use your credit card.

Other expenses may be incurred, but not for all projects. It depends on what you want me to do. If microfilms need to be rented, the actual cost of film rentals will be incurred. Any photocopies, photographs, repository entrance fees (provided that I am not already a member and have free entry), long distance phone calls, postage and handling, travel (outside of Philadelphia) and other ordered or approved out-of-pocket expenses, will also be billed with receipts supplied.

Balance in full is due before final report is sent. I do not charge for travel within the City of Philadelphia, but will charge for research done outside of Philadelphia. These charges will include; travel time (billed at $45.00 per hour), mileage [$0.55/mile], and tolls.

At this point I accept payment in the form of checks, money orders, or PayPal. I can accept credit cards through Paypal, my account being my email address. If you pay by check or money order, payments can be made out to “Kenneth W. Milano" and mailed to me at:
